About
Drew Hendry's career was in Retail, Manufacturing and New Technology where he operated at senior management level before being elected to the Highland Council to represent Aird and Loch Ness.
Councillor Hendry has previously chaired the Planning, Environment and Development Committee on Highland Council and is now SNP Group Development and Enterprise Spokesperson. He was a high profile figure in the recent and very successful European Election Campaign for the SNP where the Party won the popular vote by a large margin.
Drew has campaigned to resist cuts in funding to voluntary groups in Highland and continues to press for improvements in our schools through full implementation of the Scottish Government's popular initiatives in Education.
By personally intervening on planned sales of housing, negotiating for these to transferred to the public sector, Drew has managed to gain more Social Rented housing for our area. He has also successfully negotiated for lower bus fares on the A82 and has championed the cause to get the former Nigg Fabrication Yard back into productive use to provide skilled jobs for the whole area.
