An elected Member of Highland Council Ward 18 Culloden & Ardersier, a Councillor for the past ten years.

I have enjoyed working with Community Councils, School Boards and many other local groups and organisations to create an environment in the local area and the Highlands where opportunity for all is available, to make their contribution to Highland society quality of life and economic wellbeing, also to the wider world in general that all in the community may prosper and flourish. 

Since my election to the Highland Council I hold and have held various posts in a number of Regional and Highland wide organisations and influential groups.

A Former Provost of Inverness, Chairman of Inverness and East Highland Local Economic Forum, Chairman & Vice-Chairman of Inverness & Nairn Rural Transport Forum, Member Inverness College UHI Board Of Management, also Board Member of Inverness Chamber of Commerce, and Past Depute Chairman of Local Enterprise Company. 

With the challenges facing the Highlands in general over the next few years, particularly in the development of Renewable Energy, The Electrical Grid enhancement, Transport Infrastructure improvements also Water and Sewage to answer the housing and other needs of expanding communities.

I believe with my skills and experience I can continue to make a worthwhile contribution as an Inverness Councillor and in particular for Ward 18 Culloden & Ardersier and  in what is a rapidly changing environment.
